We have been building test systems for many years, as a result we find that many of the requirements our customers are looking for are very similar. This may be how a user logs in to the test system or the generation of test reports for example.
To make it quicker, easier and more cost effective for us to replicate these requirements for our customers, we developed SAM. SAM is also available as a product that you can use yourself to help reduce the time taken to develop your test executive software when building test systems internally.

removing much of the complexity of the TestStand Package
Amfax have developed a versatile user interface for Test Stand which can be adapted for individual test requirements, removing much of the complexity of the Test Stand Package while retaining its power as a test sequencing platform. This is called the Sequence Access Manager (SAM). The SAM software has already been deployed successfully on many customer projects to date.
Simple to use - big on features
The main interface of the SAM is a simple summary of the test sequence. Each major test step is listed, and updated as the test progresses. Feedback of test status is provided as the software executes. The operator has a limited number of controls available allowing the start/stop of a sequence, viewing of reports, configuration and access to calibration information. Advanced users will have access to controls for loading engineering or debug controls and system configuration information.
On starting the test, a user with sufficient privileges will be able to select which type of test to run (FULL SINGLE or PARTIAL) and whether the tests should STOP or CONTINUE on fail.

equipment calibration status monitorThe SAM software has a calibration status monitoring utility built in. This allows all system resources which have calibration expiry to be entered and monitored. Use of this facility is optional but is frequently used by customers to gain confidence for the validity of test runs.

SAM provides the test system software developer a comprehensive set of test result reporting options that can be configured easily during development. The test results can be stored in a number of formats that are compatible with the test data analysis tools available.
