Wishing all of our customers and suppliers a very Merry Christmas and a successful and prosperous New Year.
From Alan, Simon and all the team at Amfax.
(Did you know Father Christmas works at Amfax?)
Despite the recent heavy snow and rain, the project delivery teams at Amfax have been hard at work delivering a large end of line tester to a major UK manufacturer. The system had to be assembled and tested within Amfax's manufacturing facility and carefully loaded and delivered to the customer via an articulated truck. Dieter, one of the project managers involved with the project commented "Due to the recent weather we were slightly concerned about the logistics of getting the test rig to the customer site. However as usual, the Amfax project team worked closely together to ensure the rig was delivered safely to the customer without any hiccups. Final commissioning is due to start straight away on site"
The ElectroTestExpo show held this week at Towcester racecourse proved to be a successful day with a range of interest shown from many industry representatives. Thank you to all that attended and to the venue for the excellent service and fine cuisine provided..

What Goes On at ETE events?
ElectroTestExpos are focused business to business events aimed at electronics engineers who have an interest in ‘board bring-up’, hardware validation or production testing.
The events are paid for by a co-operative of T&M equipment vendors making it free to attend for the end-users and prospective customers. We try choose an interesting venue and an informative seminar program covering many aspects of test throughout a products life-cycle, is a common theme at each event.
As well as the seminars you will also find experts in most aspect of electronics test - only too willing to share their knowledge. The compact exhibition will typically include items such as: Bench-top ATE, PXI systems, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analysers, JTAG Boundary-scan Testers and Programmers, RF equipment, DFT analysis software, AOI systems, Flying-probe testers, Mass interconnect systems and lots more.

The Amfax a3Di PCBA metrology based inspection machine proved to be a big hit with customers visiting the Amfax stand at the recent Southern Manufacturing show held in the new conference centre venue in Farnborough.
Dieter Swindley of Amfax commented, "The busy Southern Manufacturing event this year allowed us to show visitors the performance advantages that the a3Di PCBA metrology system offers to businesses needing to improve the performance of their PCBA inspection facilities. We had a number of companies deciding to trial their PCBA boards on the machine at their facilities over the coming months"
Meet the Amfax team at the Southern Manufacturing exhibition, Farnborough, Feb 6th-8th, 2018, Stand B65
Amfax will be exhibiting at the Southern Manufacturing exhibition. Southern Manufacturing is a 3 day exhibition that takes place the 6th – 8th February 2018 at FIVE, Farnborough. It is the UK’s largest regional manufacturing technology, electronics and subcontracting exhibition.
The team at Amfax look forward to discussing your specific manufacturing requirements with you during this well attended event. Amfax will also be demonstrating the award winning Amfax a3Di PCBA inspection system which reduces your inspection costs and helps improve product yield when testing and inspecting your PCB Assemblies. Dieter, Steve and Rory from Amfax look forward to meeting up with you during the event. You will find us on stand B65
The incredible Amfax a3Di PCBA inspection machine scoops its second award in 8 months. This time a3Di won a finalist award in the Advanced Manufacturing category at the National Instruments Engineering Impact Awards in London on the 27th November.
The award was presented to Peter Juracic, one of the lead software developers for a3Di by Robert Morton, NI's VP of Sales, EMEIA region.
The Amfax a3Di team were out in force at Productronica this year in Munich. The system took centre stage on the Systech Europe booth. We would like to thank all of the attendees who spent time with us to get to know the business benefits that taking real 3D measurements of components and solder joints can deliver.
Alan Smith, Managing Director of Amfax and Mike Smith, product manager for a3Di are seen with the a3Di machine that caused a great deal of excitement at the show.
Mike commented "It is great to see that companies are now realising the incredible business benefits that a3Di brings to the PCBA inspection market. The new software tools we have introduced at Productonica this year for fast programming and autotuning of boards along with the incredible new board debug capabilities keep a3Di well ahead of any other PCBA inspection machine currently available"
Rory is shown explaining the benefits of the new board debugging software to an interested visitor at the show, For those who watch Robot Wars on TV, you may recognise Rory as he was participating on last weeks episode with his own robot team. Building robots is Rory's other passion when he is not developing new software as part of the a3Di team at Amfax.
Alan and his wife Nickii took part in their first ever Skydive recently all in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. They raised over £1,500 for the charity which is one of Amfax's nominated charities. They both enjoyed the experience, but only one has said that they would do it again!
